The 6th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo was held in Dunhuang from Sept 6 to 7, 2023. It focused on Belt and Road cooperation, Dunhuang culture, and economic and social development.

The expo featured 30 main activities, including an opening ceremony, the Dunhuang Forum, exhibitions, performances, investment promotions, and bilateral meetings.

The Dunhuang Forum held 12 conferences. More than 580 international guests discussed cultural exchange, mutual learning, the Silk Road spirit, and high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, contributing ideas for the Global Civilization Initiative and new forms of human civilization.

Cultural exhibitions presented 15 themed displays, covering nearly 11,000 square meters and about 100,000 exhibits from over 20 countries and regions. Three performances showcased Dunhuang and Silk Road culture.

The expo also promoted economic cooperation. Gansu's cultural tourism investment promotion conference saw the signing of agreements on 26 key projects worth 10.6 billion yuan ($1.58 billion), covering cultural tourism, health, technology, creativity, performances, and scenic area upgrades.
