A group of Hong Kong youth has visited Dunhuang for an immersive Silk Road cultural study tour.

Upon arrival, they engaged in traditional clay painting at Dunhuang Press. The group then explored Yadan National Geological Park, Yumen Pass, and Yangguan Pass, immersing themselves in the region's rugged landscapes and ancient frontier ruins. They also watched the immersive drama "Encore Dunhuang" to delve into China's millennia-old civilization.

On the last day of the study tour, the delegation explored the Mogao Grottoes, where they learned about mural and sculpture art and conservation through digital presentations and cave tours.

They attended a lecture discussing the modern significance of Dunhuang culture, including its history, multicultural interactions, and current importance.

A visit to Dunhuang Museum deepened their understanding, and they concluded the day on Mingsha Mountain, gazing at Crescent Lake.

The tour combined nature, intangible heritage, and academic exploration. Moving forward, Gansu and Hong Kong will maintain exchanges, including regular study visits to enable more Hong Kong youth to connect with their national heritage.
