A group of Malaysian tourists visited the Dunhuang Sand Culture Experience Base on May 13, embarking on a unique desert cultural journey. For most of them, it was their first close encounter with sand painting art and their first time touching the fine, warm sand unique to Dunhuang.
Guided by professional explanations, they listened attentively as they learned about the long history and development of sand culture, gaining a deeper appreciation of Dunhuang's millennium-old cultural heritage and artistic charm.
Afterward, they personally tried sand painting, using flowing sand as ink and a brush to freely sketch lines and vividly depict the auspicious nine-colored deer.
From initial curiosity to serious creation, each guest became fully immersed and successfully completed their own unique sand painting.
The experience allowed the overseas guests to truly feel the unique charm of China's traditional intangible cultural heritage, using desert sand as a medium to build a cultural bridge across distance.
