A Gansu cultural tourism flash mob took place at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine on the afternoon of May 8, despite drizzling rain.
The classic Dunhuang dance Reversed Pipa amazed teachers and students, perfectly recreating the graceful poses from ancient murals and igniting enthusiasm for Silk Road culture among young people.
As melodious music played, dancers in exquisite Dunhuang costumes moved lightly, vividly presenting the elegance of millennium-old Dunhuang.
Many students arrived early to capture the perfect shots. One student said she had seen the dance online before and intentionally arrived early to secure a good spot, adding that waiting in the rain was worthwhile. Applause and cheers filled the campus.
The flash mob was a key part of a Gansu cultural tourism promotion event in Guangdong province, representing an innovative way to engage young people through immersive performances and allowing students to experience Gansu's rich cultural heritage.
Moving forward, Gansu will continue to use creative methods to deepen partnerships with Guangdong for mutual development.
