Online Dunhuang culture event links China and Germany
The "Global Link of Dunhuang Culture" event was held online on May 7, connecting Lanzhou, Dunhuang, and Dusseldorf.
Chinese Consul General in Dusseldorf Yu Yong, Director Xu Yanli of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Gansu Province, and Yu Tianxiu, deputy director of the Dunhuang Academy, attended the cultural exchange event.
Song Shuxia, deputy head of the Cultural Promotion Department of the Dunhuang Academy, gave a special presentation on Dunhuang cave art.
She reviewed the historical evolution of the Mogao Caves, the artistic features and cultural significance of murals and painted sculptures, and the cultural exchanges that took place along the Silk Road.
Through detailed explanations and visual presentations, she introduced overseas audiences to the artistic legacy of Dunhuang cave art and the depth of traditional Chinese culture.
During the event, Yu Yong and Yu Tianxiu delivered speeches highlighting the important role of Dunhuang culture in bridging Eastern and Western civilizations. They said they hope to deepen Sino-German cultural exchanges and promote the preservation and dissemination of Silk Road civilization.
