Dunhuang has secured its first cultural creative product 3D printing manufacturing project, addressing a long-standing gap in the local cultural industry's processing and manufacturing sector. The project went from initial contact to establishment in just 30 days.
Utilizing eco-friendly materials such as corn straw, the advanced 3D printing technology reduces traditional mold costs and inventory pressure.
It allows for flexible production, from one-off custom items to small batches, eliminating the need to outsource manufacturing for Dunhuang's cultural products.
The project has already moved into the Dunhuang Cultural Creativity Incubation Park's temporary zone, with 75 3D printers in trial production. The R&D team is developing a camel-themed cultural product series.
Renovation of the main facility is also progressing, with full operations scheduled to begin on May 1. Once operational, the main plant will house over 600 3D printers, significantly shortening production cycles and addressing challenges such as long lead times and communication difficulties previously faced by local creative enterprises.
