The Gansu Opera House delivered a series of captivating performances from Feb 15 to 18 at Singapore's River Hongbao 2026 celebration, marking the event's 40th anniversary, serving as a key part of the 2026 Happy Chinese New Year global campaign, and promoting Gansu's cultural tourism appeal in Southeast Asia.
River Hongbao, Singapore's oldest and largest Spring Festival cultural event, provided a significant platform for sharing Chinese traditions.
The Gansu troupe presented a rich tapestry of pieces and dances, with performances that included folk songs reflecting Gansu's rural charm, instrumental music evoking the ancient Silk Road, and classical dances and traditional opera segments further showcasing China's profound cultural heritage.
Each performance drew large crowds, with the artists' skill vividly bringing the spirit of Spring Festival to life and bridging the hearts of the Chinese and Singaporean people.
Beyond artistic exchanges, the tour was a vital overseas promotional effort for Gansu's tourism, with many Singaporean attendees expressing keen interest in visiting.
The Gansu Opera House aims to continue using art to tell China's stories and contribute to global cultural dialogues.
