Before Spring Festival, a cultural event featuring performances from Northwest China's Gansu province was held in Morocco.
Gansu Song and Dance Theater held shows in Rabat, capital of Morocco, on Feb 4 and in Tangier on Feb 6, attracting nearly 2,500 attendees, including the Chinese Ambassador to Morocco Yu Jinsong, Moroccan officials, and local residents.
Prior to the performances, a photo exhibition was held, showcasing everything from Gansu's Mogao Grottoes to its stunning landscapes, sparking strong local interest.
The performances featured traditional Chinese dances inspired by Dunhuang art, such as the renowned Thousand-Hand Bodhisattva.
A highlight was a folk music rendition of a popular Moroccan song played on traditional Chinese instruments, which was well received by the audience.
The event aimed to promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding between China and Morocco. It marked the successful conclusion of Gansu's 2026 Spring Festival cultural events in Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco.
