The Global Mayors Dialogue · Dunhuang opened in Dunhuang, Gansu province on Oct 13, bringing together mayors, mayoral representatives, diplomatic envoys to China, young Sinologists and distinguished guests from ten countries to explore opportunities and challenges in cultural urban governance.

Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on practical city governance topics, including cultural resource endowment, environmental protection, green development and smart city initiatives. Attendees shared valuable experiences from their respective cities, focusing on balancing cultural heritage preservation with urban governance, and contributing insights to advance sustainable development.
