Exhibition on Cultural Exchange and Cooperation among Countries under the Belt and Road Initiative was held from Sept 21 to 25 at the Dunhuang International Convention Center, as part of the 8th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo.
The event transforms the hall into a microcosm of global cultures. The Ghana pavilion captivated visitors with energetic African drumming and displays of wood carvings and handmade soaps.
Nearby, the Uzbekistan pavilion attracted crowds with exquisite carpets and scarves, while handmade ceramics drew attention at the Turkiye pavilion. Artworks from Russia and goods from Pakistan also proved popular.
A key moment was the opening of the Pavilion of Thailand, the guest of honor this year, featuring a performance of the traditional Nora dance. Dancers in elaborate costumes moved to rhythmic music, earning warm applause.
The exhibition also offered a culinary journey, with samples of Russian sausages, Malaysian white coffee, and Cambodian durian cakes. A Cambodian exhibitor said that the event demonstrates how cultural exchange fosters both understanding and commercial opportunities.
