International artists find new inspiration along Silk Road in Gansu
Artists from 11 countries participated in the "Silk Road Artists' Rendezvous" program in Gansu province in August.
The delegation included artists from Mongolia, Romania, Italy, Russia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Canada, Bangladesh, Botswana, Argentina, Bulgaria, and Hungary.
Together with Chinese artists, they documented Gansu's natural landscapes and cultural heritage through artistic creation.
The artists found inspiration in Zhangye's vibrant Danxia landform and were deeply impressed by the ancient murals and sculptures at the Mogao Caves.

Many participants reflected on the connections between Eastern and Western artistic traditions, noting that art serves as a universal language that transcends cultural boundaries.
Since its start in 2009, the program has hosted hundreds of artists from nearly 100 countries. Following their Gansu experience, the artists continued to Hangzhou to transform their inspirations into artworks.
These creations will be displayed at the 8th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo in September, offering visitors unique perspectives on Silk Road culture through the artists' interpretations and facilitating cross-cultural dialogue.
