Global creators explore Silk Road in Gansu
A group of foreign content creators with millions of followers recently explored Gansu province on a cultural discovery tour, "Global Vision, Dialogue with Gansu". They visited cities including Wuwei, Zhangye, and Pingliang to experience the Silk Road's legacy.
In Wuwei, digital technology brought ancient history to life. Zhangye's stunning Danxia landform and modern camping facilities blended nature with leisure. In Pingliang, hiking Kongtong Mountain offered insights into traditional Chinese philosophy.
The journey also included Dingxi, Longnan, and Linxia Hui autonomous prefecture, revealing historical sites, ethnic traditions, and eco-tourism initiatives.

Through platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Bilibili, the creators shared their real-time experiences with a global audience of tens, even hundreds, of millions.
Their authentic content sparked an overseas "Gansu fever", driving many to add the destination to their travel bucket lists. Domestically, their fresh perspectives reignited local pride and interest.
These creators acted as a modern-day "digital caravan", bridging cultures online just as camel caravans once did on land. They helped present a multi-dimensional picture of West China to the world, while fostering nongovernmental support for the Belt and Road Initiative.
This journey has paved a broader road for Gansu's culture to go global and for the world to understand China, writing a brilliant new chapter for the Silk Road through innovation and integration.
