New Dunhuang exhibition revives Silk Road postal heritage
In late July, the newly opened Xuanquanzhi Display Center at the Xuanquanzhi Relic Site Scenic Area in Dunhuang, Gansu province, offers visitors a vivid journey into the thousand-year history of the Silk Road's ancient postal system.
Through modern storytelling, the center showcases 183 cultural relics, including Han Dynasty (206 BC-220) bamboo slips, pottery, carved bricks, and wooden items.
Through role-play and layered scenarios, the site brings forgotten postal traditions and governance systems back to life.
