Gansu tourism promotion shines in Bangkok
As China and Thailand celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations, Gansu province hosted a cultural and tourism promotion event in Bangkok on May 23, aiming to strengthen collaboration and attract more Thai visitors.
More than 50 representatives from Thai tourism associations and businesses attended, exploring opportunities to promote Gansu's rich heritage.
The event kicked off with a stunning promotional video showcasing Gansu's Silk Road legacy, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant traditions. Officials introduced historical sites, local cuisine, and specialty tourism routes, highlighting Jiayuguan city, theme parks, and immersive travel experiences. Major travel agencies, including Lansen Travel and China Travel Service, presented tailored itineraries to cater to the interests of Thai travelers.

That afternoon, the Gansu Academy of Painting Art Exhibition opened at the China Cultural Center in Bangkok, featuring 38 artworks portraying mountains, historical narratives, and everyday life.
Gong Jiajia, deputy director of the Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, said that Gansu is a key hub along the Silk Road, while Thailand plays an important role on the Maritime Silk Road. She expressed hope that the exhibition will help Thai people better appreciate Gansu's stunning landscapes, vibrant local culture, splendid Dunhuang art, and rich cultural heritage.
Gansu's delegation met with Thai tourism groups to discuss joint promotions and traveler exchanges, reinforcing Gansu's appeal as a rising destination to Thai visitors. Through tourism and cultural events like this, China and Thailand continue to strengthen ties, fostering deeper cooperation and mutual prosperity for the future.
