[3rd Expo Review] Foreign journalists share insights on the Dunhuang cultural expo
The 3rd Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo held in September 2018 has won widespread acclaim from foreign journalists covering the event, with many praising its role in fostering cultural exchange and cooperation.

Hujjatullah Zia, a columnist and journalist at Daily Outlook Afghanistan, expressed his honor in attending the expo and his excitement over the speech delivered at the opening ceremony by Mohammad Sarwar Danish, the second vice president. "China's Gansu province and Afghanistan's Bamiyan province share a sister-city relationship. I hope this expo will serve as a bridge for enhanced exchanges between the people and organizations of the two countries," he said.
Italian journalist Yu Weiwei from Corriere della Sera highlighted the historical ties between ancient Rome and China, noting that the Silk Road facilitated exchanges in economics, religion, and culture. "I hope platforms like this cultural expo can revive the Silk Road and breathe new life into it," she remarked.
Lusiana Tuimaisala from Fiji Sun was captivated by the unique natural landscapes of Crescent Lake and Mingsha Mountain in Dunhuang. Visiting the Mogao Caves, she was deeply moved by the millennia-old cultural heritage. "Through my reports, I hope to introduce the fascinating culture of Dunhuang and Gansu's profound history to my fellow Fijians. I also hope this expo will further strengthen cooperation between Fiji's official cultural institutions and civil organizations and their counterparts in Gansu," she stated.
The expo attracted over 280 journalists from 115 media organizations worldwide, underscoring its significance as a global platform for cultural dialogue and collaboration.
