At the 3rd Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo in September 2018, the dance drama 'I Am a Yugur Girl' mesmerized audiences at the Dunhuang Grand Theater with its vibrant portrayal of the Yugur ethnic group's traditions.
The show follows the coming-of-age journey of a young Yugur girl, bringing centuries-old scenes of traditional Yugur life to the stage through an evocative fusion of music and dance. Enhanced by modern stagecraft and dynamic lighting, the production blends authenticity with artistry, delivering a visually stunning tribute to the Yugur people's enduring legacy.
Originating from Sunan Yugur autonomous county in Zhangye, Gansu province, the performance offered a glimpse into the community's rich cultural heritage.
