Since its debut in 1979, Flower Rains Along the Silk Road has toured over 40 countries and regions, with more than 2,800 performances witnessed by over 4 million people. The dance drama has undergone several adaptations, including a notable 2008 rendition for the Beijing Olympics.

"Each adaptation adheres to the original script, theme music, and the vibrant essence of Dunhuang dance," said Lu. "The 2017 version, presented at this year's Expo, enhances the diversity of styles and colors from countries along the Silk Road, while incorporating more international musical elements to create a performance rich in dynamism and impact."
