The Chinese and Foreign Gala titled "Meeting in Dunhuang" premiered in Dunhuang, Gansu province on Sept 21, 2017, marking a highlight of the festivities for the 2nd Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo.
Artistic talents from China, the United States, Armenia, and various other countries and regions presented a breathtaking arts extravaganza.
Kyle Dillingham, a renowned violinist, and Guo Gan, a masterful erhu musician, collaborated on an ensemble of "The Girl from Dabancheng," a cherished Uyghur folk song that captures the yearning of Uyghur youth for a beautiful woman named Qemberxan. This performance merged the contrasting tones of the violin and erhu, offering the audience an exhilarating and delightful artistic experience.
Moreover, the dance "Jasmine Blossoms" captivated the spectators with its elegant portrayal of Eastern culture's refinement and grace. The Armenian State "Barekamutyun" Dance Ensemble enthralled the audience with their folk songs and dances, imbued with exotic charm, garnering rounds of thunderous applause.
