Silk Road expo blends cultural heritage with economic growth

The 7th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo was successfully held in Dunhuang from September 20 to 22. This grand event deepened cultural exchanges and boosted the Belt and Road Initiative while showcasing Gansu's new image and consolidating new development momentum.
Themed "Implement the Global Civilization Initiative, Deepen Exchanges and Mutual Learning among Civilizations," the expo featured 18 activities across five categories, including a high-profile opening ceremony, the Dunhuang Forum, cultural exhibitions, artistic performances, and investment promotions. Six high-level bilateral and multilateral meetings were also held, garnering widespread acclaim from both domestic and international guests.
The expo's "attract big, strong, and leading" cultural tourism initiative drew over 240 investors. It resulted in 74 on-site signing and credit projects, totaling 27.14 billion yuan ($3.72 billion). These projects span various sectors, including cultural tourism, wellness, technology, creative industries, and scenic area improvements, providing robust momentum for Gansu's economic and social development.
