To mark the 7th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo, an international cultural exchange performance titled "Meeting in Dunhuang" was held at the Dunhuang Feitian Theater on the evening of Sept 20.

Artists from China, Uzbekistan, Mongolia and the United States shared the stage, presenting a vibrant showcase of diverse cultural expressions.

The event began with stunning Dunhuang dance. Combining traditional dance elements with multimedia techniques, the show vividly portrayed the mystical legend of Sanwei Mountain, a place blessed with thousands of Buddhas and lit by holy lights.

Uzbek artists then took the stage, performing a series of dynamic pieces, including song and dance Andijon Polka and hand-drum solo Qo'sh doira, highlighting the rich cultural traditions of Uzbekistan.

Mongolian folk songs such as Altain Magtaal (In Praise of the Altai Mountains) and Four Mountains celebrated the deep connection between Mongolia's natural landscapes and human emotions, offering a heartfelt tribute to the region.

North American band Horseshoe Road captivated the audience with a medley of classic songs, including Country Roads, Take Me Home, and Unchained Melody, stirring a strong emotional response from the crowd.

The evening concluded with a unifying performance, as artists from all four countries joined the audience in singing Meeting in Dunhuang, symbolizing a shared connection across borders.

This unique cross-cultural exchange, with its blend of music and dance, bridged the hearts of every audience member, showcasing the power of art to unite people from diverse backgrounds.
