May Day tourism surges in Dunhuang

During the five-day May Day holiday from May 1 to 5, tourism activities in Dunhuang, Gansu province, flourished leading to about 551,900 visits, up 45.89 percent from last year.
Tourism revenue amounted to 452.97 million yuan ($62.69 million), showing robust year-on-year growth of 37.47 percent.
Throughout the holiday, besides popular destinations like the Mogao Grottoes and the Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring Scenic Spot, various museums, performance venues and educational sites in the city attracted numerous visitors looking for new experiences.
They received praise from tourists for their good service, clean and tidy environments and the rich array of cultural tourism products.
