To promote Dunhuang culture and draw outside tourists during the recent Qingming Festival, the Silk Road cultural city Dunhuang in Gansu province held a flash mob in Luoyang, Henan province, on April 2.
Professional dancers brought an elegant performance with inspiration from the beauty of flying apsaras images (angel-like beings known as feitian in Chinese), reproducing the charm of the Dunhuang murals and widely attracting attention.
Dunhuang dance is created in accordance with the style of the Dunhuang frescos. After its 40 years of development, Dunhuang dance has become one of the schools of Chinese classical dance.
